Samsung has redrawn its most important foldable. The new Galaxy Z Fold8 folds into a short, wide, passport-like phone with a 5.5-inch cover screen, and opens sideways into a wide 7.6-inch 4:3 tablet that finally plays films without thick black bars. At 201 g it is the lightest Galaxy Fold ever, it runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy with a 4,800 mAh battery, and it makes the wide-fold shape properly available worldwide for the first time. Pre-orders are open at $1,899.99 / €1,999 / £1,699, on sale from 7 August 2026.
