HONOR Magic V6 goes global · The thinnest foldable on the market packs a 6,660 mAh battery

HONOR unveiled the Magic V6 at its MWC event in Barcelona on March 1, 2026, then sold it only in China from March 13. On June 4 the wait ended: the global version launched in Malaysia first, with Singapore right behind (in stores June 12). HONOR says Europe, the Middle East, Africa and more of Asia-Pacific follow throughout June.

The headline is unchanged from the China launch. Going by the two manufacturers' own spec sheets, this is the foldable that beats the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 on the two numbers people actually feel: thickness (8.75 mm versus 8.9 mm folded) and battery (6,660 mAh versus 4,400 mAh).

Folded, the Magic V6 measures 8.75 mm in the Ivory White version (9.0 mm in the other colors), thinner than many flagship slab phones and under the Galaxy Z Fold7's official 8.9 mm. Open, it is just 4.0 mm thin. White is also the lightest at 219 g; the other colors weigh 224 g.

HONOR backs the thinness with an unusually deep set of durability ratings: a Super Steel Hinge made of 2,800 MPa steel rated for 500,000 folds (SGS-certified), a NanoCrystal Shield cover glass, and, a first for any foldable, both IP68 and IP69 ratings. The Magic V6 survives immersion in up to 1.5 m of fresh water for 30 minutes as well as high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. Foldables are normally the least water-resistant phones on the market, which makes protection this complete a genuinely big deal.

The four global colors are Ivory White, Ferghana Red, Sunrise Gold and Classic Black. Folded shut, the round camera island sits centred on the cover, so the closed phone lies flat on a desk and does not wobble when you type on it.

The inner screen is a 7.95-inch LTPO OLED at 2352 × 2172 (403 ppi) with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and a peak of 5,000 nits in HDR highlights. HONOR worked on the two classic foldable complaints: the crease is SGS-certified as "imperceptible" (44% shallower than on the Magic V5, though the OPPO Find N6 goes further still with its Zero-Feel Crease) and a low-reflection coating brings reflectivity down to 1.5%.

The 6.52-inch cover display is an LTPO OLED too (2420 × 1080, 406 ppi); it peaks even higher at 6,000 nits and uses a normal 21:9-ish aspect ratio, so the phone behaves like a regular flagship when closed. Both panels dim with 4,320 Hz PWM, which keeps them flicker-free and easy on the eyes at low brightness, and both support the HONOR Magic-Pen stylus, sold separately.

The Magic V6 is the first foldable shipping with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (3 nm, two prime cores at 4.6 GHz, Adreno 840 graphics), the same top-tier silicon the next wave of 2026 flagships will build on. It reached buyers first because it went on sale in China on March 13, ahead of the OPPO Find N6.

Every global version pairs that chip with 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB or 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage; there is no lower-memory global variant, so nobody pays flagship money for a cut-down configuration.

The global Magic V6 carries a 6,660 mAh silicon-carbon battery, the largest in any globally sold foldable and roughly half as much again as the Galaxy Z Fold7's official 4,400 mAh. Fitting that capacity into a phone that opens to 4.0 mm is the single most impressive number on this spec sheet, and the cell chemistry is how HONOR pulls it off: 25% silicon content and an energy density of 921 Wh/L, with TÜV Rheinland's 24-hour battery certification on top, another foldable first.

Charging is outrageously fast for a foldable, too: 80 W wired and 66 W wireless, one of the fastest wireless charging speeds among foldables, and it adds reverse wireless charging to top up earbuds or a watch on the back, plus 5 W reverse wired. In China the 120 W GaN charger comes in the box; European boxes, as is now standard in the EU, ship without a charger.

China, as usual, keeps a little extra for itself: Chinese versions pack 6,850 mAh, the 16 GB and 1 TB model even 7,150 mAh, plus China-only BeiDou satellite messaging, and HONOR has not explained why global units get less.

The AI Falcon system combines a 50 MP main camera (f/1.6, 1/1.56″ sensor, OIS) whose large sensor and bright aperture gather more light, so after-dark shots come out cleaner and OIS keeps them sharp handheld; a 64 MP periscope telephoto with 3× optical zoom (f/2.5, OIS) that pulls in distant detail like faces at a concert or the action across a stadium, with CIPA 6.5-stop stabilization holding those zoomed frames steady at longer exposures (it reaches 100× digitally, but anything past 3× is computational, not optical); and a 50 MP ultra-wide (f/2.2, 122°) that fits a whole scene in frame and, with autofocus, doubles as a close-up macro. Each display has its own 20 MP selfie camera, and the rear system records 4K at 60 fps.

Fitting a periscope of this class into a body this thin is a real packaging feat, and HONOR adds laser autofocus for quicker locking in low light plus a dedicated rear color-temperature sensor that holds white balance so colors match reality. Cameras are the one area where the V6 does not lead the other foldables: the OPPO Find N6 brings a 200 MP Hasselblad main camera and the Motorola Razr Fold holds a DXOMARK 164 Gold score, so among book foldables the "best" title splits by priority, with the V6 winning on thinness and battery rather than imaging.

The Magic V6 runs MagicOS 10 on Android 16, and under HONOR's ALPHA PLAN pledge the Magic series gets seven years of Android OS and security updates in the EU. The software story is heavy on AI: Google Gemini and Gemini Live are built in (with 3 months of Google AI Pro free), alongside HONOR's own AI agents, call translation, deepfake detection and photo tools. Big-screen multitasking gets PC-style multi-window modes that actually use the 7.95-inch canvas.

The Apple bridge is among the most complete on Android: HONOR Share connects directly to iPhone, Mac, AirPods and even Apple Watch, with one-tap file transfers at around 60 MB/s, two-way notification sync and dual-screen workflows with a Mac. Xiaomi (HyperConnect) and vivo (OriginOS) now move files to an iPhone and pair AirPods too, but reaching all the way to an Apple Watch is still rare. If you live half in Apple's world, this feature alone can decide the purchase.

In Malaysia, the first global market, the Magic V6 costs RM 7,699 for 16 GB and 512 GB and RM 8,899 for 16 GB and 1 TB, roughly $1,750 / €1,550 and $2,020 / €1,800 at current exchange rates, before local taxes.

Europe is now live. HONOR's German store opened orders on July 1, 2026, and France follows on July 2 at 10:00. In Europe HONOR sells a single configuration, 16 GB and 512 GB, at a €2,299.90 list price. Launch deals cut that sharply: in Germany an early-bird coupon (code A600MV6) plus a bundled HONOR Pad 10 (MultiScreen pack) or Magic-Pen and HONOR CHOICE accessories (Business pack) bring the effective launch price to about €1,699.90, while France offers a €300 early-bird voucher. For context, the Magic V5 launched in Europe at a €1,999 list price. A UK launch has not been announced, and HONOR does not sell phones in the US.
